The Importance of Grooming
Grooming is extremely important for our dogs for several reasons:
1. Health
Regular grooming can prevent certain health problems such as skin irritations, infections, ear and eye issues.
2. Comfort:
A well-groomed dog is more comfortable and it also helps to keep their coats clean and tangle-free. A dog in discomfort can cause behavioural issues.
3. Early Detection:
Regular grooming helps pet owners spot potential health problems early, before they become serious.
4. Improved Bond:
Regular grooming can improve the bond between a pet and their owner. It provides an opportunity for physical connection and can help dogs feel loved and secure.
5. Maintain Appearance:
Dogs that are regularly groomed typically have a healthier and shinier coat because it stimulates the follicles in their skin, resulting in improved coat growth.
6. Prevents Parasites:
Grooming also helps to prevent parasites like fleas and ticks by ensuring that they are discovered and treated quickly.
In short, grooming is not just about keeping dogs looking good, it's an essential part of their overall health and well-being. Regular grooming is essential for every dog, regardless of breed, age, or size.

When can I bring my dog for their first Full Groom?
We recommend bringing your dog for their first Full Groom from the age of 6 months however it is so important to bring them in for their Puppy Introductory Grooms at 12 weeks old after their vaccinations to desensitise them to grooming.
How often should I groom my dog?
The frequency of grooming depends on your dog breed and coat type. Long-haired, wiry and curly breeds will require more regular grooming than short-haired and regular bathing and brushing is required for all dogs.
How long will my dogs groom take?
It depends on your dog breed, size, coat type and condition as well as their temperament. Timing will vary between our team of groomers as we all have different speeds. Grooming typically takes between 1-3 hours but is subject to change. We strive to be on time however working with live animals, no day is the same, sometimes we may experience unpredictable disruptions. If there is a long delay we will be sure to inform you. We ask you to wait for our call when fluffy is ready to be collected.
My dog is anxious, can I stay?
We understand your concern about your dog's anxiety during grooming. It's completely natural to want to be there for them. We truly prioritise your dog's comfort and well-being, and we've found that, in most cases, dogs actually settle better and experience less stress when their owners aren't present. When owners are nearby, dogs often focus their attention on them, which can heighten their anxiety and make it harder for them to relax and trust our groomers. Our team is highly trained in handling anxious dogs, and we use gentle techniques and positive reinforcement to create a calm and safe environment. We will discuss a suitable grooming plan for your dogs needs and monitor their stress levels closely throughout the grooming process.
